Hair Care Tips from Addicted 2 Chevé
- Wash your hair before installing
- Wash and deep condition your hair at least every 2 - 3 weeks. We recommend deep conditioning since the hair has been cut from donor, therefore, it will begin to lack nutrients that are naturally absorbed from the donor. Deep conditioning will add these nutrients back by adding moisture into the hair, helping soothe any frizz and repair damage.
- The products you use on your hair is very important. Please use sulfate and paraben free shampoo and conditioner.
- Shampoo your hair in a downward motion to prevent tangling.
- Brush through your hair to make sure product is evenly presented.
- After washing, squeeze out any excess water and pat the hair dry.
- Allow the hair to air dry, as blow drying is not recommended due to a high chance of heat damage.
- Use heat protectant when applying any source of heat to the hair to avoid breakage.
- Moisturize hair lightly with hair oil of your choice. Please ensure to use a light amount of product or hair may become stiff.
- Over time, we recommend trimming the ends of your hair to minimize split ends that travel up the hair shaft and cause breakage, resulting in less length overall.
- Protect your hair before going to bed with a lace band , silk wrap and/or silk bonnet. Silk is the best material due to its slippery and smooth texture, as it helps prevent frizz, tangles, breakage, promoting shiny and soft hair.
